Designed published books into a series in order to generate a new market and new sales for the book.

Darwin's theory of evolutionwas controversial in the 19thcentury. Most people in that era believed that it was God who created people. An ape’s head was placed on Darwin's profile, to show that authorities were challenged in that era.

In Darwin’s geological diary, he found fossils of marine animals in mountain sediments, which indicated that the South American mountain chain rose rapidly from the sea. This inspired that the design of four fishes on the top of the mountains within the back of the book cover.
